Protect our planet
Inspired from the start by Paul Ricard, environmental protection is deeply rooted in the history of Pernod Ricard, which has made it a priority in its corporate social responsibility policy. This commitment resulted in the introduction of a sustainable development charter in 2006, updated in 2013 to become the Pernod Ricard Commitment to the Sustainable Development.
In 2013, the Boards of Directors has adopted a new Corporate Environmental Policy in order to renew the Group engagement and to communicate to the stakeholders, starting by our 19 000 employees, the suppliers and the partners
A COMMITMENT ENCODED IN THE GROUP’S DNA
Pernod Ricard’s principles in its respect for the environment were inherited from Paul Ricard, the Group’s visionary founder and industrial pioneer. As early as the 1960s, Paul Ricard was concerned about protecting the environment and in 1966 created the Deep Sea Observatory, which later became the Paul Ricard Institute of Oceanography.
It is now recognised as a leading player in protecting marine biodiversity and combating pollution at sea.
EFFECTIVE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
ISO 14001 certification policy (environment)
Pernod Ricard’s environmental policy is reflected in its certification requirements: 96% of Group production facilities are ISO 14001 certified, accounting for 99.7% of volumes produced by the Group.
- Pernod Ricard Brasil: Awareness through education
The Suape production plant in Brazil launched an ambitious project to raise environmental awareness among staff and local communities.
Aiming at state school pupils, the subsidiary arranged educational workshops, visits and games on the theme of recycling, sorting and saving water and energy resources.
It also held a day for employees to make a commitment to helping the environment, for example by planting trees.
