Wyborowa, Luksusowa and Pan Tadeusz – true “Polish vodkas”

Poland has officially issued a label that sets standards and places of production for Polish vodkas. The first brands to put the new official symbol on their bottles are Wyborowa, Luksusowa and Pan Tadeusz, all part of the Pernod Ricard portfolio.

Since January 13th, an amendment of the Act on Production of Spirit Products came into effect in Poland, defining Polish vodka as a product made exclusively on the territory of Poland, and only from Polish ingredients. In order to make the distinction clear to the public, a symbol was created for the bottles. The new “Polska Wódka/Polish Vodka” geographical designation will protect a quality product that relies on local raw materials and centuries of know-how.

“Before granting the right to use the symbol, the Polish Vodka Association will be able to check the ingredients and manufacturing process. The guarantee may always be withdrawn if the manufacturer no longer meets the required conditions”, says Andrzej Szumowski, President of the Polish Vodka Association.

The introduction of the symbol on the packaging of Pernod Ricard Polska brands will be supported by an information campaign on bottles and in retail outlets.
