At the tenth annual Awards for Corporate Governance organised by AGEFI (Swiss online financial daily) yesterday night Pernod Ricard received the "Grand Prix" (top award) for Corporate Governance as well as the First Prize for the composition of its Board of Directors.

For the past ten years, these accolades have been awarded based on the results of a survey of finance industry professionals.  The methodology is qualified and validated by a steering committee, which identifies good practices within companies included in the SBF 120 index, based on data provided in the annual report and the registration document.

The award for the composition of the Board of Directors is given based on various criteria such as the proportion of women on the Board, the proportion of members of foreign nationality, detailed information on Board members and the length of their terms of office, and the clearly specified independence of Board members.

The “Grand Prix" for Corporate Governance was unanimously awarded by the members of the Steering Committee bearing witness to a Governance policy that is at the heart of the Group’s strategy.

At the awards ceremony, Danièle Ricard, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said, "Value creation, independence and transparency are the key components of good governance today.  However, if I had to add two other ingredients, I would insist on diversity and on the need for long-term vision.  More diversity – whether it be of gender, experience or culture – equals more talent and expertise, and therefore adds value.  As for the long-term vision driven by the Board, it offers a framework for stability, it gives direction beyond the fluctuations of the economic cycle and it ultimately strengthens the company’s independence.”
