CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility is a major focus in Pernod Ricard's constant quest for improvement. The Group has risen to the challenge of reconciling financial efficiency, respect for stakeholders, environmental protection, consumer protection and cultural awareness.

Forging partnerships with authorities and organisations

The promotion of responsible drinking requires a concerted effort by all stakeholders (public authorities, Social Aspect Organisations, doctors, etc.). To do this, Pernod Ricard contributes to the work of national and international organisations all over the world.

A COMMITMENT ALONGSIDE THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION

Pernod Ricard: signatory to the European Forum’s Alcohol and Health Charter

In June 2007, Pernod Ricard signed the European Forum’s Alcohol and Health Charter.
This forum for the European Commission’s work brings together economic agents and NGOs looking to discourage excessive or inappropriate alcohol consumption. EU Member States, European institutions, the World Health Organisation and the International Organisation of Vine and Wine sit as observers.

Upon joining this forum, Pernod Ricard provided the European Commission with a concrete action plan, including objectives and information on procedures for monitoring and evaluating results.
Pernod Ricard: signatory to the European Road Safety Charter

Pernod Ricard also responded to the European Commission’s invitation to sign the European Road Safety Charter.
The Group is committed to taking concrete action and assessing its results to help reduce road accidents.
This Charter allows signatories to share good practices to help improve road safety in Europe.

RELAYING PUBLIC HEALTH AUTHORITIES’ RECOMMENDATIONS ON LOW-RISK DRINKING

Pernod Ricard is committed to educating the public about the levels above which alcohol consumption may present health risks, relaying the message from international public health organisations.
A few sample initiatives:
In France, Entreprise et Prévention, a Social Aspect Organisation in which Pernod Ricard takes part, developed its “2-3-4-0” campaign, which reminds the public of these thresholds on its website and on billboards.

In the United Kingdom, Pernod Ricard has invested in the Drinkaware Trust, a UK body that runs programmes to raise awareness about excessive drinking.
