Premium Wine Brands becomes Pernod Ricard Winemakers10/29/2013
The global wine division of Pernod Ricard unveils a new corporate brand name and a new vision.
Following three successive years of strong growth Premium Wine Brands has announced that it will be changing its brand name to Pernod Ricard Winemakers as well as adopting a new vision - Leading Wine Innovation – to deliver on its ambition to be the world’s leading global premium wine business.
Jean-Christophe Coutures, Chairman and CEO, Pernod Ricard Winemakers, said the change represented an evolutionary step for wine in the Pernod Ricard and positions the company for future growth. “The launch of Pernod Ricard Winemakers marks a new chapter in the long and successful story of wine within the Group. The introduction of Pernod Ricard to our name is particularly noteworthy. Not only does it reflect the quality and heritage credentials of our parent business, but also demonstrates the Group’s continued commitment to its wine interests.”
Wine has been an integral part of the Pernod Ricard group since 1989 when the company first acquired international wine business, Orlando Wines in Australia, which was followed by a number of acquisitions in the subsequent decades. Premium Wine Brands was formed in October 2010, as Pernod Ricard took the step of realigning all of its wine brands under one banner. It is the home to some of the worlds most awarded and sought-after wine brands including Jacob’s Creek, Brancott Estate, Campo Viejo and Graffigna, as well as Chinese newcomer, Helan Mountain.
In conjunction with the name change, the company also unveiled a new vision– Leading Wine Innovation.
