Pernod Ricard España has announced that, subject to certain conditions, it has reached an agreement to sell a number of brandy and sherry brands to Osborne.01/31/2008
The agreement covers 14 brands in all, including the Carlos I, Carlos III and Felipe II brandies and the La Ina Fino sherry and the Rio Viejo Oloroso sherry. Osborne will now be the new owner of these brands. The sale does not include the Domecq brand, which remains under the ownership of Pernod Ricard.
This deal is in line with Pernod Ricard’s strategy of focusing on its main brands, while for Osborne this portfolio completes its present range and is a further step forward in its strategy of growth through acquisitions that provide synergies.
