A pioneer of coffee liqueur, Kahlúa was created in Mexico in 1936. At the beginning of the 1960s, Jules Berman, an art collector and entrepreneur, introduced it to the United States.

While there is still a touch of mystery surrounding Kahlúa's exact origins, its groundbreaking flavour is enjoyed worldwide today.


KNOW-HOW

Kahlúa uses 100% Arabica coffee beans, grown on the high plateaus of Veracruz which offer optimum altitude and climate conditions. They are fresh, with a subtle hint of chocolate that defines Kahlúa's unique flavour and aroma.

These coffee beans are roasted slightly, just enough to develop a delicate flavour, then briefly ground to preserve their natural smoothness. The ground coffee is immediately extracted with water. Freshly filtered, it is then blended with sugar cane alcohol, vanilla and caramel.

    Introduced in 2007, this dark mahogany liqueur is smooth and satiny with a creamy, nutty finish. Though hazelnut is the first flavour coming up, it is immediately followed by an intense burst of coffee. Kahlúa Hazelnut can be used in a hot or chilled coffee drink.
