The first bottles of Royal Salute were created for the coronation of Queen Elisabeth II in 1953. This exceptional blend takes its name from the Royal Navy's traditional 21 gun salute for official figures.
Today, Royal Salute is still the only Scotch whisky with a range starting at 21 years old. The first Royal Salute 21-year-old was created using some of the world's rarest whiskies, aged in cellars since the 1920s and 1930s.

Since 1953, only four people have had the privilege, thanks to their expertise, keen sense of smell and intuition, of serving as Master Blender for Royal Salute. Each in their own way, these veritable artists have contributed towards the creation of outstanding blends, using all their talent to select some of the world's oldest and rarest whiskies.
Drawing from Chivas Brothers' outstanding whisky stocks, built up since the 19th century, Royal Salute is always able to produce prestigious blends of aged whiskies.
