Beefeater has collaborated with Royal Warrant holding goldsmiths and silversmiths Thomas Lyte to celebrate its affinity with the Yeoman Warders of The Tower of London and add a royal touch to the pinnacle of its portfolio, Beefeater Crown Jewel. The special commemorative bottle has been specially upgraded to feature a 9 carat solid gold label, embellished with a precious ruby. The label pays homage to the iconic Crown Jewels, the inspiration of Beefeater Crown Jewel’s ruby-inspired bottle.
The bottle has been created to mark King Charles III’s historic coronation year and one hundred percent of the proceeds raised at auction will be donated to The Drinks Trust, the UK drinks industry’ charity dedicated to the drinks and hospitality workforce. The auction will open on the 28th May with a regal guide price of £3,000.
The unique Coronation label has been created by world-renowned, London based, goldsmiths and silversmiths Thomas Lyte, whose Royal Warrant was granted in 2008 as a mark of recognition for the quality of its craftspeople and products. The bottle also carries the all important official hallmark to certify the quality of the gold, one of the first to feature our new King’s commemorative mark, guaranteeing the provenance and confirming all legal standards of purity and fineness have been upheld to the highest standards.
Murielle Dessenis, Global Brand Director for Beefeater, comments: “This truly is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, where we have combined the legendary, distilling talents of our Master Distiller Emeritus Desmond Payne, with the quality of Thomas Lyte’s world-class exquisite precious metal work. The inspiration for this collaboration is our long-standing affinity with the guardians of the Crown Jewels, which were front-and-centre of the coronation ceremony, the Yeoman Warders. Beefeater Crown Jewel has been loved by bartenders since its initial release almost 20 years ago and so it felt right to ensure any money raised by this commemorative bottle is given back to those in the drinks industry.”
Beefeater Crown Jewel’s precious liquid is treasured by bartenders worldwide as it is an elevated version of Beefeater’s iconic London Dry Gin recipe with a boldly heightened 50% ABV. This strength captures the additional citrus notes from grapefruit peel, which is added to Beefeater’s iconic nine botanical recipe. Beefeater Crown Jewel is perfectly balanced with clarity of flavour and unmistakeable depth.
Beefeater Crown Jewel Coronation Edition will be live on Whisky.Auction from 28th May to 6th June Guide Price: £3,000. https://whisky.auction/charity/beefeater-crown-jewel
