6th edition of Pernod Ricard Responsib'all day

Press Release 03/06/2016

All Pernod Ricard's affiliates shared 'convivialité' with local communities around the world

Yesterday, on 2 June, 18,500 employees across Pernod Ricard's 85 affiliates worked all day long to bring conviviality to their local communities.  Tools in hand, they rolled up their sleeves and spent an entire day working to build and renovate communal spaces for the benefit of local communities around the world. These actions took place as part of the sixth edition of Pernod Ricard's Responsib'All Day, a unique annual event during which all employees act as the frontline ambassadors of the Group's CSR commitments.

FRANCE: THE WHOLE PARIS TEAMS IN THE FIELD

In Paris, 400 employees from the Group's Headquarters, the Pernod Ricard Europe Middle East Africa entity and Havana Club were involved. They spent the day working to build furniture, greenhouses and a dancefloor for local associations, as well as helping with the construction of living spaces. Despite the bad weather and difficulties related to the public transport strikes, all the employees shared a great moment of conviviality. Discover Pernod Ricard employees sharing conviviality with the communities in Paris on Youtube.

IRELAND: 750KM OF CYCLING OVER FIVE DAYS FOR A VERY WORTHY CAUSE.

To celebrate Responsib'All Day, a group of 28 Irish employees cycled from Dublin to Paris, crossing the finish line to attend the Paris event. They have raised money that will go to a charity:  the Cork Association for Autism.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC: 3 HOUSES REFURBISHED

Near Santo Domingo city, in the rural neighbourhood of La Berna, the company's 24 employees started to refurbish the houses of three families in need, a tradition called 'pintaton'. Due to the very bad weather conditions, they will complete the project in the coming days.

NEW ZEALAND: HELPING THOSE WHO HELP THE COMMUNITY

New Zealand kicked off Responsib'All Day as the first time-zone.  Among the many projects across the country, 90 head office employees painted, cleaned and gardened at the headquarters of Auckland City Mission, one of the largest and most respected local social services agencies.

RUSSIA: A CULTURAL PROJECT IN MOSCOW

Pernod Ricard Russia employees were involved in building a summer 'set' with an open stage and terrace for one of the oldest theatres in the Moscow region, the Istra Drama Theatre.

TAIWAN: EMPLOYEES SUPPORTING THE ABORIGINAL COMMUNITY

In Taiwan, the 130 Pernod Ricard employees devoted their Responsib'All Day to working in an aboriginal village, Gaoyi, whose inhabitants mostly belong to the Ataya tribe. They renovated the meeting place of the local Community Development Association, after a renovation project was launched in May by Pernod Ricard's construction contractor.

SOUTH AFRICA: COLLABORATING WITH NGOS

In South Africa, the 347 employees partnered with several local NGOs identified through the affiliate's CSR programme, 'PR Cares'. On 2 June, they visited regional communities in partnership with former Springbok rugby player Cornal Hendricks' Foundation and the association created by international footballer Andre Arendse, 'Safe Hands Soccer'.

As Pernod Ricard's Chairman and CEO, Alexandre Ricard, explained, 'This sixth edition has been a very special day for us all. Firstly, because Responsib'All Day is a unique event when our 18,500 employees are the leading ambassadors of our commitments, and secondly, because we wanted to work alongside our local communities, and both the number and quality of more than 100 projects run in one day are amazing. We are a committed company based on highly dedicated employees'.
